As a Data Scientist Ben uses his passion for policy and data analysis to improve the efficiency of processes for Elder Research clients. He earned a B.A. in Economics and Political Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. While completing his honors thesis, Ben realized the power of data and quantitative methods in assessing and guiding public policy and programs, leading him to complete an MS in Analytics from the Institute for Advanced Analytics at North Carolina State University. During his master’s practicum project, Ben used machine learning algorithms to predict Medicaid patients who were at high-risk for suicide and self-harm incidents.
In his free time, Ben enjoys playing guitar and basketball, travelling, and exploring new parts of Washington, DC.
