Jordan Blair

Marketing Manager

Jordan is passionate about communicating the unique value that Elder Research brings in solving data and analytics problems. Prior to joining Elder Research, Jordan worked for a digital marketing agency where he gained experience in online advertising and search engine optimization, and was honored to win several marketing awards. Jordan originally developed his interest in digital marketing as a participant in the Google Online Marketing Challenge while earning a B.A. in Marketing at James Madison University.

During his free time, Jordan enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter, hiking, traveling, and doing anything that involves sports.

Keith Cohler

Accounting Assistant

Keith Cohler performs corporate-wide accounting functions in support of the Director of Accounting and Contracts.  While he earned a bachelor’s degree in the Midwest where he grew up, Keith has spent most of his career working in Washington, DC as a Financial Analyst for large defense contractors where he conducted program budget analyses, reporting on program costs and funds expended while investigating forecast variances.  Keith also managed a project to design a series of corporate-wide online financial management courses to help project managers maximize program profitability.

In his spare time, Keith enjoys hobbies such as interior design and exploring historic architecture in the region and along the East Coast.

Andreas Combos

Marketing Intern

Andreas leverages analytics to maximize the effectiveness of Elder Research’s marketing campaigns. He earned a BA in Mathematics and Religious Studies from Virginia Wesleyan University where he played on the men’s tennis team and studied abroad in Israel.

In his spare time, Andreas enjoys engaging in deep conversation, digging into good books, and spending days on the lake with his friends and family.

Janet Dobbins

VP of Business Development, Statistics.com

Janet Dobbins directs community outreach, communication, and marketing for The Institute for Statistics Education at Statistics.com. She works with colleges and universities to create innovative curriculum and industry teams to help them gain necessary skills.

She is also the President of Data Community DC, a non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation committed to promoting data science by fostering education, opportunity, and professional development through high-quality community-driven events.

Previously she worked for Xerox Corporation as an Account Executive. Janet earned a B.A.degree in English and Economics from the University of Virginia.

Rachel Patrick

Administrative Assistant

Rachel serves as the administrative assistant in our Raleigh office. She attended Palm Beach State and worked as a paralegal for several years in Florida. She gained valuable experience as an executive assistant working at an arts council in Texas. In her spare time she volunteers at the local middle and high schools.

She and her husband enjoy college football, spending time with family, and watching their daughters play volleyball.

Carter Phillips

Business Development Associate

Carter Phillips is a Business Development Associate who works to connect with existing Elder Research clients and solicit new clients in the Healthcare, Insurance, and Financial sectors. Carter earned a B.S. from James Madison University in 2016, studying Philosophy and Integrated Science and Technology. While at JMU, Carter worked as a backpacking guide over two summers in the San Juan Mountains of Colorado. 

In his free time, Carter enjoys soccer and taking in Charlottesville’s abundant dining and outdoor recreation opportunities.

Teresa Spencer

Executive Assistant and Office Manager

Teresa serves as the Executive Assistant and Office Manager in the Washington, DC office. Previously she worked for an adoption agency coordinating travel for families adopting children from China. Teresa is a graduate of James Madison University with a Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Communication. While at JMU, Teresa minored in both Human Resource Development and Spanish. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, specifically down to Nicaragua where she has been involved in several orphan care opportunities. Teresa is also a devoted country music fan.

Valerie Troiano

Registrar and COO, Statistics.com

Valerie Troiano directs operations for The Institute. As Registrar, she oversees student services, enrollment and registration, faculty support, scheduling of 80+ courses, and the learning management system.

Valerie’s experience with statistics began with Resampling Stats, Inc., a predecessor firm, in 1994. Previously she directed sales and marketing teams for a hotel company and a contract furniture firm. She holds a degree from Northwestern University.

Charlotte Wallace

Marketing Intern

Charlotte Wallace creates content and strategic marketing plans that communicate our vision to prospective clients. Charlotte earned her degree from Pepperdine University where she studied Communications and Business. While at Pepperdine, she studied abroad in Germany for a year, led multiple new student orientation events, and was involved in Student Government.

In her free time, Charlotte enjoys running, making jewelry, and exploring Charlottesville’s local food scene.

Valerie Woodside

Administrative Assistant

Valerie serves as an Administrative Assistant in our Charlottesville office. She is a graduate of Grove City College, where she studied biology and religion. Valerie has broad experience that includes work in mental health, retail management and financial research. She is also an active volunteer, most recently serving as an employment skills mentor. She and her husband love traveling, literature and movies.
